It has been quite some time now that the HTC EVO 4G has been in the market. For a budget conscious customer it is a very good choice. HTC has been making great phones from time to time and how successful it has been this time, we will take the look at phone step by step to get you an overview.
General:
Generally speaking the phone works on all the GSM modes and the ones available in US. 4G services are also supported by the phone. HTC Evo 4G comes with 5MP camera which is quite impressive.
Build:
The phone's build is attractive at 121.9 x 61 x 11.9mm. HTC Evo 4G is quite light at 147.4g. There are standard android buttons on main screen for navigation. There is a micro usb port for charging the phone. Battery is easy to take out. There is a very beautiful metallic strip on the back side of phone.
Display:
At 540x960 pixels, HTC Evo 4G display is quite good for a phone. Whether you are browsing web or watching videos, it is a very good experience. There is rich LCD Capacitive touch screen with 16M colors. The phone comes with very good touchscreen, you will like the touch of the phone, and it’s very immerse and liquid. So, on the basis of display size coupled with a good touch, display is good. Gaming Experience is also great on HTC Evo 4G.
Software:
Running at OS 2.3.4 Gingerbread but upgradable to ICS. Phone comes with much appreciated HTC Sense 3.0 which is another great addition to the phone.
Hardware:
Although running at single core 1.2Ghz processor with 768MB Ram, phone is still fast and will not make you feel like pauses or any lapses. Graphical processing unit of the phone is also good.
Memory:
HTC Evo 4G comes with good 4GB internal memory with option of adding 32GB SD card memory.
Camera:
There is good 5MP camera coming with this phone so you can shoot at maximum resolution of 2592x1944 pixels in still image mode with auto focus and LED Flash and video can be recorded in 720p High Definition. Availability of secondary camera is also very pleasing and you can do video chat as well as video conferencing. Camera also includes the features of Geo-Tagging, Face and Smile Detection and Image Stabilization.
Web Experience:
With android smartphones, the best thing I like is the ability to browse web with full flash support which is not there in iphones. HTC Evo 4G is a wonder to browse web. There are widgets on the main home screen on which you can store your webpage tabs to access them directly. It also comes with built in Flash Player 10.1 to make your browsing experience even better. Big screen size makes it a very good book reader. You can also watch live TV and with 4G network availability it is a truly unique experience to use web on HTC Evo 4G.
Connectivity:
There are all connectivity options available in this phone when it comes to GSM based connections, GPRS, EDGE, WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth, 4G all options are available. To connect to computer it has micro usb 2.0 connectivity.
Battery:
Battery in HTC Evo 4G is quite bad. At 1520mAH, it provides good standby time but not much talk-time. The stand by time on HTC Evo 4G is expected to be 400H. Talk time on HTC Evo 4G would be around 6 Hours.
Verdict:
For a budget user, HTC Evo 4G will provide quite good experience. There are many features in which this device outperforms rivals in the same category.
